Monday lunch -muizenburg guests visit to haven !.meet hendrik rushana and mikailin jobs for our muizenburg folk ? lets do it !

Today was really exciting day marking the beginning of group lunches for guests from the peninsula whose lunch was generously paid for by our sponsors (click to see)  for Haven food tickets for whom we will need more to keep this going ...even small donations are welcome..  into our account-click here

Because it’s quite a long way to walk we picked up a few folk in muizenburg by car and others walked ..We were met by Alfred the supervisor who graciously setup aa table for the mostly ladies and one could send the joy begin to emerge especially of the residents themselves who watched on , they knowing all too well as they previously had lived in the street what this meant to the folk from muizenburg and shelters too are only temporary ..such smiles, lovely to see the serving , we discussed how it would be possible for ladies to shower in future too

many interesting conversations were had and hopefully the public will come to these event s and learn first hand what life is like on street and why folks are there. In muizenburg many talked about how much less dangerous than in more gang infested township. Marion Thomas the social connect Muizenburg social worker  is well known to most and we introduced few more to her including a family member who came looking for her pregnant aunty ..

Our job as the public is to show kindness and find work for these folk /Please share our post in that regard

Hendrik who you can see in the video always begs at Muizenburg robot and is looking for work,,hed do anything (part tiome or permanent   or odd job )  He lived in muizenburg all his life so it’s kind of sad isn’t . last worked in security.  Please contact us if you can help. This have Hendrik an opportunity to possibly find shelter as he was able to speak to Alfred the supervisor about the assessment process.

Rushana woujld love any cleaning job or domestic as would Mikaelin and all others.

We need to find safe house for these young folk and social work connections and encourage them to trust us again

But still as you can see this was a day of gratitude for those who were helped and gratitude of us who were blessed to be able to receive their gratitude.
